About the program

The Rwandan traditional dance class gives you a rich experience with the vibrant rhythms and rich heritage of Rwandan traditional dance. You'll learn the captivating movements and cultural significance of these age-old dances, led by experienced instructors passionate about preserving our heritage. Join us to learn, celebrate, and embody the spirit of Rwandan dance.

What to expect

  • Mastering Traditional Dance Movements: Learners get to master various movements, foot steps and gestures of the Rwandan traditional dances, including Intore, Umushagiriro and other dances.
  • Learning Music and Rhythms: Learners will be introduced to the traditional music and rhythms that accompany Rwandan dances, learning how to synchronize their movements with the beats of drums and vocal harmonies.
  • Understanding Cultural Significance: In addition to learning traditional dances and their songs, learners will gain an understanding of the cultural significance and historical context behind each dance.
  • Community and Connection: Through participation in the dance class, learners will have the chance to connect with others in the community who share an interest in Rwandan culture, fostering a sense of belonging.
